Valley First Mortgage Free and / Home Hardware Home Renovation Contest Official Contest Rules
Contest will run from Thursday, April 18, 2013 to Monday August 19, 2013.
To enter this contest:
Read the Real Estate Today section (Thursdays in Southern Exposure or Friday’s in Penticton Herald) or Okanagan Saturday Home section to find the hidden Valley First a division of First West Credit Union logo (hereafter know as Valley First) or Home Hardware logos. Go to www.pentictonherald.ca or www.kelownadailycourier.ca and click on Reader Contests. Enter which logo you found and the page number you found it on.
Contestants can enter once each week through to the end of the contest. One contestant will win through a random draw after the end of the contest. Only one entry per household per week is allowed.
Prize package will include $12000 cash towards your current or new mortgage through Valley First and a $6000 home renovation from Home Hardware (materials only).
Please note that prizes must be taken as offered. No substitutions will be allowed. Trading or selling any portion of winnings will not be accepted. There will be only one winner for each grand prize. The prize must be accepted within 90 days of winning said prize.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.
The winner must comply with the contest rules, correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question and must sign a standard declaration and release form accepting their prize as awarded.
Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, and signing of the release form agrees to release Okanagan Valley Newspaper Group, Valley First Credit Union, Home Hardware, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.
Refusal to accept the prize releases Okanagan Valley Newspaper Group, Valley First Credit Union, Home Hardware and their respective affiliates, directors, officers, agents and employees of any obligation toward the winner.
Okanagan Valley Newspaper Group, Valley First Credit Union, Home Hardware and their respective affiliates, directors, officers, agents, and employees shall assume no liability whatsoever for any situation in which their inability to act results from an event or situation beyond their control.
The contest is open to all residents of the Okanagan, who have reached the age of majority with the exception of employees and immediate families of Okanagan Valley Newspaper Group, Valley First Credit Union, Home Hardware and their respective affiliates, directors, officers, agents.
The winners shall agree, if necessary, to have their name and/or picture, including their photograph, and/or their voices used for advertising purposes related to this contest, free of charge.
Should the winner make any false statement, they shall be automatically disqualified from the contest.
All personal information, such as e-mail address, name, address, telephone numbers and age is collected solely for the purposes of administering this contest and for the sole use of Okanagan Valley Newspaper Group, Valley First Credit Union and Home Hardware. Email addresses shall not be sold or given away for any other use without your consent. By providing this information, you consent to it being used for the stated purposes.
UPICKEM and Okanagan Valley Newspaper Group are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.
Chances of winning are dependant on the number of entries each contestant makes and the number of people participating in this contest.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
Okanagan Valley Newspaper Group reserves the right to change the rules at any time.
